IES have many successes in the Green Technologies sector from large scale energy centre projects, to recycling and Intelligent EV charging systems.

IES has successfully delivered the integration, sequencing / control of Steam Boilers, Combined Heat Power and Biomass Boilers. Services  provided include the design and manufacture of Siemens control systems with site installation and commissioning.

Recent projects include the 1,000 MW HVDC interconnectors NEMO and ElecLink consisting of subsea and underground cables connected to a converter station in the UK and Belgium and France respectively, which allows electricity to flow in either direction between the two countries. IES Provided the controls and electrical package for the Air Handling Units (AHU’s) for both projects.

Recycling processes are varied and often require specific research and development to develop a suitable control system design to meet the performance criteria. Projects such as household Biomass EfW, incinerated waste separation and recycling have been successfully delivered with fully integrated intelligent control systems such as the Anaerobic Digestion EfW Plant in Halstead, Essex and the Bottom Ash processing in Nottingham.
