Frindsbury Wharf Aggregate Plant
Frindsbury Wharf marine sand and gravel processing plant, situated on the River Medway in Kent, supplies sea-dredged aggregate to concrete and building material producers across the UK.
IES were commissioned by Hanson Heidelberg UK to provide the full design and build for the plant. Our remit was to provide a safe and energy efficient solution for maximum productivity without the need for permanent operators.
Utilising intelligent integrated controls from the Siemens product range, the installation was delivered on budget and within programme. The complex SCADA application provides daily management logs that can be accessed anywhere worldwide within the Heidelberg Intranet, allowing essential KPI’s to be gathered and monitored.
The new Frindsbury plant is capable of processing over 1.2 million tones of aggregate each year, now without the need to operate 24 hours a day.
It enables Hanson Heidelberg to meet the high demands needed for high speed construction projects, in the London area.
